Alice Suszynski has been a cabinetmaker for over thirty five years and has produced everything from residential and commercial custom designs to fine furniture. Her furniture designs have won many awards.
From 1990 to 2003 she participated in the prestigious Design in Wood competition in San Diego,California. For each effort and entry she won either first or second place ribbons and in 2003 she brought home the coveted Best in Show award from Fine Woodworking magazine. Along with being the first woman accepted into the cabinet apprenticeship of the United Brotherhood of Carpenters, she headed the cabinetmaking program at Oceanside High School in California for five years.
Her aesthetic is firmly rooted in the arts and crafts movement where ornamentation is kept to a minimum and the excellence of the joinery and the beauty of the wood is accentuated.
Ed Suszynski is an electro-mechanical engineer with a knack for invention. His curiosity and love of doing it himself led him to build his own NC router, enabling him to create intricate engravings with precision.
Alice and Ed moved to the Eastern Sierra, near Yosemite National Park, in 2004 to pursue their life-long loves of hiking, fishing, skiing and just being around natural beauty. The influence of their surroundings is evident in the organic designs they have created.
These two have combined forces to create the beautifully crafted silverware chests, jewelry boxes, jewelry chests and jewelry cabinets you will find on this site.
“We hope you enjoy them as much as we have enjoyed creating them.”
